About us

If you’re reading this, you’re probably looking for an apartment. Not fun, is it? You’ve probably been looking at Zillow, Facebook Marketplace, and apartments.com. At this point, websites are starting to blur together.

When you finally find a place you like, you see it, and you love it! So you apply, and the landlord accepts you, and then you move in! Except not quite.

  • about-us banner

Before you move in you, have to pay a month’s rent (sometimes more!) for a broker fee. It kind of sucks, right? We thought so too, so in 2018, we founded Nobee.

  • about-us banner

We started in Boston because that’s where we’re from (go Red Sox) and have saved our renters hundreds of thousands of dollars so far. Now we’re in NYC, and soon we’ll be in Seattle to continue our mission: to save renters money on broker fees. What we do is pretty straightforward, but it helps to know how things currently work first. When you pay a broker fee, you’re paying a real estate agent a commission just for showing you the place. The worst part is, you probably found the place yourself!

  • about-us banner

The more expensive your apartment is, the more the broker fee is. That’s a lot of money and incentivizes some agents to upsell you on a more expensive place.

  • about-us banner

We pay our agents a flat fee for every showing they do for us so that you don’t have to pay them a month’s rent. Then, when you are ready to sign your lease, we charge $500 a bedroom. No more one months rent! We’re never trying to upsell you because we make a flat fee; all we care about is finding you your dream place.

When you’re ready to apply, we’ll cover your application fee and credit checks and work with you to make sure you get the apartment you want. We do renting the right way.
